Cecile Azarcon

Ms. Cecile Azarcon is considered one of the Philippines’ most prolific songwriters. Her numerous hit songs have been sung by a virtual “Who’s Who” in the Philippine music industry and her heartfelt ballads are now considered OPM (Original Pilipino Music) classic hits.

Daughter of opera singer, voice teacher and concert pianist, Minda Azarcon, Cecile started playing the piano at the age of three and began composing at the age of six.  At age 19, Cecile’s journey in her songwriting career began with her first major hit song, “LIFT UP YOUR HANDS”, originally recorded by Basil Valdez, and which is now considered a timeless, classic hit.  Some of her other hit songs include SANA AY IKAW NA NGA (Basil Valdez), IKAW ANG LAHAT SA AKIN (Martin Niviera), SO, IT’S YOU (Raymond Lauchengco), SPECIAL MEMORY (Iwi Laurel), EVEN IF (Jam Morales), I THINK I’M IN LOVE and ONE MORE TRY (Kuh Ledesma), REACHING OUT (Gary Valenciano) and HOW DID YOU KNOW (Chiqui Pineda and Gary Valenciano) among others.

Cecile currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area where she serves as Music Director at Faith Bible Church of Vallejo.  Cecile also holds private music lessons and produces cd projects and concerts with a goal to guide, help and promote deserving singers and songwriters.

The schmaltzy essence in its entirety justifiably provides the needed angst and torturing anguish that heightens the degree of every scene and dramatic highlight…” ( Read more )
